Based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (REHL) and The Fedora Project, AlmaLinux innovates beyond the other enterprise distributions and methodology. Their community-led organization is considered to have more sound ethics compared to Rocky Linux.
Not to mention its faithful stability and extended support all the way until May 31st, 2032. You could install AlmaLinux 9 and not need to upgrade systems and workflows for years. (This is what makes AlmaLinux more appealing to VFX Studios over a bleeding-edge distro like CachyOS).

I have tried Alma, Rocky, Red Hat and AlmaLinux was the smoothest experience of all three.
The way I set up Alma will not be the way a real VFX studio would set up a workstation.
AlmaLinux appears to be replacing current industry standards like CentOS 7 after it lost support and even Rocky Linux in some cases. See VFX Studio Workstation Linux Report (2024)
